Week of Work Stress: apply for a subsidy now!

Yesterday marked the start of the Work Stress Week, which draws attention to work stress and burnout and seeks preventive measures for them. Companies across the country are organizing activities to tackle work stress and increase job satisfaction. Nearly 2.7 million employees in the Netherlands are dealing with a (too) high workload, putting about one million employees at risk of burnout. Research shows that employees with a high workload and little support from their supervisors are particularly at high risk of burnout.

Minister Asscher announced yesterday that the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment is making 13 million euros in subsidies available for, among other things, addressing work-related stress by employers. Until November 25, 2016, employers can apply for subsidies for projects focused on keeping employees working longer and healthier. This also includes addressing work-related stress. Employers can receive half of the costs subsidized, up to a maximum amount of 10 thousand euros.
