We would almost forget it in this Corona time, but as of today, the UWV’s counter is open for submitting an Application for compensation for severance pay due to long-term incapacity for work. Just a brief summary:
Conditions for compensation for severance pay
To be eligible for compensation, the following conditions apply:
- the employee was dismissed after July 1, 2015 due to long-term illness;
- the employee was legally entitled to severance pay;
- the employer has paid the severance pay to the employee.
Employers must be able to demonstrate these conditions by submitting a number of documents showing:
- that there was an employment contract;
- what the duration of the employment contract was;
- that the employee left employment while ill;
- on which date the 104 weeks of illness was reached;
- that severance pay has been paid (for example, bank statement);
- how the severance pay was calculated
