Hoge Raad: compulsory termination of “slapende dienstverbanden” with transition payment

Thanks to the judgment of the Supreme Court of 8 November 2019, employees with a "dormant employment relationship" can propose to their employer that the employment contract be terminated with payment of the statutory transition payment. The employer is obliged, on the basis of good employment practice, to accede to reasonable proposals from the employee.
